Belinda, I will need to read through this more than once, but I can completely see the truth of this piece on 'silences'; individual, societal and inter-generationsl - in my own family experience and in a historical WIP that is my current and ongoing writing project. I am so glad to have found your work.

HI Margaret, was so lovely to meet you on Saturday. I've been telling everybody about your book, have only used it for one day so far but am really enjoying it. For someone who is not very good at 'reflection', it really suits me!

I'm really glad you found things in this piece that have resonated with you (and thank you for letting me know as I sometimes worry my ideas are overly abstract and hard to grasp) -- it was one of the harder ones to write and I feel my thoughts on this will continue to evolve, but there is just something there in the Irish Psyche that seems to be wrapped up in 'Silence' and I want to dig it out!

Look forward to, no doubt, continued conversations and learning more about your own ongoing projects

B xx

Thank you Belinda, so good to know Weather Report has a new fan.

To return to silences, and why I can relate to your piece so much; my current writing project relates to one of my foremothers, who could neither read nor write the written word (she could ‘read’ the world though), who did something quite remarkable but never, ever spoke of it. And of course left no written record. Silent, or silenced? M x
